work in concert with Stafford Social Services (860) 684-4239 and community clergy members to act as a safety net, meeting the special needs of Stafford and Union residents who are caught in difficult, transitional times in their lives. Our goal is to provide temporary assistance to those in need of: food, clothing, utilities and shelter.
Residents must be referred by Stafford Social Services or on an emergency basis by a member of the Stafford or Union clergy.
Safe Net Ministries is solely supported by your generous donations of time and money, both private and corporate.
The public is welcome to attend any of our monthly Board meetings at 6:30 p.m. on the third Tuesday of each month.
The Food Cupboard is open twice a month (second and fourth
Saturdays) from 9:00 am - 12:45 pm. Food distributions are conducted at Safe Net
Headquarters, 58 West Main Street, Stafford Springs.
The Safe Net General Assistance fund is used to help people with those sudden urgent needs for example: emergency oil deliveries in 50 gallon increments, utilities, prescriptions, gas cards, rental assistance. Safe Net works closely with Stafford Social Services to ensure that people have access to all the programs available to them. Safe Net refers all clients to Stafford Social Services first and then we fill the gaps. We act as a safety net.
Festi's Oil has generously made 50-gallon deliveries for us since our inception.
